what is MP3?

The first creator of the audio file was a gentleman by the name of Johannes von Poruski, a German computer technician. He named the first version of this file format the P1, after his own last name. In 1990, the P2 was created, followed by the P3 and the P4 in the mid-1990s. By the late 1990s, however, the "P" format was becoming outdated, and American software engineers under hire for Sony created the MP file format. The name was designed as a pun on the previous file format. Following this was the MP2 and the MP3, with the MP3 being the most advanced file format to date.
